Learn the circumstances and inspirations for and published credits for this month's featured writing.GLASS RAIN—the poetry by Margaret Roxby “TWO SMALL POEMS” is included week for the United Nations International Day of Peace, September 21. The two poems were found among the author’s papers. REFRACTIONS –a poem by Robert Roxby “CANYON VISTA” is included this week for National Public Lands Day, September 24. The author wrote this following a road trip with his wife and mother-in-law through the US parklands of the southwestern states. It first appeared in the author’s anthology, Reflections on a Lifetime. THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS—the poetry of Kathleen Roxby “OLD WOMAN’S SOLILOQUY” is included this week for the National Aging Awareness Day, September 18. The poem first appeared in 2000 as part of the author’s chapbook, Paper Doll. The author wrote this after spending days and hours at the rest home where her 91 year old grandmother resided.
